You know what it is. The people around you know what it is. It is what you lead with. Or it is your script that you always have underneath the surface; waiting to tell another receptive set of ears. It defines you. It validates you. It is the one that explains your resiliency. It tells everyone what a dynamic survivor you really are.
You know that people have gotten tired of hearing it. They have even told you so. So you have learned to change it up. You have learned not to lead with how you have been victimized. You dress it up first as a victory story. And then when no one is expecting it, and they are open to you, you slip in all the details of abuse and suffering that you have endured.
It’s a great story. It should be made into a full length movie to inspire others to overcome. But it is also a set of chains to being a victim. You have shown great courage. Now be brave enough to set yourself free of the story and dissolve in into nothingness.
