A Believe It or Not Technique to Break Out of Rigidity

Our countenance is assembled one thought, one intention, one fear at a time. What we reflect out here is a compilation of that. Some people are so stuck in what they have created because it is woven so tightly that it seems impossible to change. A great quick way to break up the tight-assed grip of who we have become is simple. Change our colors and wardrobe. Wear bold prints and bright colors. Mix and match. Do this only in the house at first. It will be really irritating to some. Try it with your spouse. If they are set in their ways they will not like changing. But then they may become a little more open and accepting in general.

Benchmarks

We are all connected and so the work we do on ourselves uplifts and benefits all. If we can’t muster up the resolve to carry on for ourselves; maybe we can do it for the struggling souls behind us who are waiting to see how we pick  the key out of the maze of illusion and step into spiritual freedom. Our children, pets and loved ones don’t want to see us as simple passengers in life. They want to see us empowered and engaged so that they feel safe and content in their own life experience. They want to strive to our heights not struggle to free themselves from the dead weight of our indifference. We are all buoys or anchors to everyone around us. Which one is determined by our thoughts, feelings and actions from moment to moment. Holidays and gatherings are opportunities to register ourselves in the memory banks of others as a being of loving kindness or something to endure. What we choose to do, think, feel, and be determines what kind of memory we will leave for those we hold dear. The best gift to give someone is to be a happy memory for them.

Misnomers

Kindness is not weakness. Opinions are not necessarily truth. Judgments are not facts. Wielding power is not strength. Showing Love is not a vulnerability. Sharing is not losing but an exponential gain. Giving is not giving, but receiving. Taking up a cause in not transcending power; it is making it your equal. Silence is not invisible. Conversation is not a trade-off for connecting. Society is not a reflection of humanity. Problems are not meant to be downloaded onto others. Sympathy is not compassion. Sympathy is rubbing an eternal wound. Compassion is disallowing the wound to be re-opened. The past only defines us if we bring it into the present. There is no future only consecutive moments. Religion is merely a step towards God The heart of Love is entered beyond the mind. Higher Love is not warm and fuzzy but a deep contentedness. Complacency is a form of death. Others do not see your faults with the same magnifying glass as you. Problems are gifts to hone our spiritual strength. Beauty is a recognition of an inner Light. An enemy is the flip side of a friend. Most are not afraid to die but to be separated from their consciousness. […]

Spiritual Buffet

Jen and Simha

Many people have different tastes in cuisine. When there is a large group of people going out for dinner, they will be most successful in going to a restaurant that has a buffet that offers something for everyone. It is all food. Everyone gets happily fed on a meal they enjoy, without squabbling. We are so fortunate to live in a time where we have access to many spiritual paths. Truth is truth. We all are just looking to get spiritually fed. So it is great when we get to a point that we can pick different practices that resonate with what we need for our own spiritual growth. The only thing that interferes with this is the control mechanism built-in to religions that their way is the only way and if one strays from it, they will suffer severe consequences. This is a form of control and fear. True spiritual guides are unconcerned with how truth and love come into the individual. That is the main difference between religion and spirituality. Religions have an agenda. They have a structure that needs to be filled by physical means; including people to support its structure. Spirituality is formless, has no structure […]
