Mainstream

The concept of ‘mainstream’ has done much damage to the psyche of individuals. One definition of it is the prevailing current of thought, influence, or activity. But this is the big illusion because most people are so cautious NOT to share their thoughts, don’t care to influence others and do not engage in activities based on what they truly believe.

People are afraid to express how they really think because they will suffer repercussions if it doesn’t conform to acceptable intelligence and isn’t articulated with pristine precision. It is a primal fear of survival to be separated from the herd by an opinion that is not popularly accepted. Many of my clients have had the past life trauma of being persecuted or even tortured and killed for being different.

Years ago, I talked a very talented resident doctor out of quitting in his last year of education. His frustration was that they didn’t appreciate him thinking for himself. That the students that asked questions in his program were chided as problematic and the students that reverberated answers without question were more valued. I helped by foreseeing him eventually creating change from within by advancing to a higher level of prestige.

But these days many of us see that popular opinion is merely programming by repetition from those who are mouthpieces of power. We have grown weary of conformity; especially when we see it’s shortcomings play out in the arena of society.

Politicians no longer represent their constituents. They are merely a group of people who have a skill-set that we all have been conditioned to recognize as desirable. Prisons are filled with people who have failed miserably in conforming. Most children are medicated if they don’t perform within a narrow band of acceptable behaviors. Disease is the acceptable norm (we even have events rallying in support of it).

Conformity is destroying the fiber of humanity. Talents are wasted. People are diminished. Dreams are neglected. Spirits are broken. And most of us are disillusioned.

Here are some EFT taps that may help the individual break away from the pack mentality. The more that we think as individuals and work to inspire and uplift others, the more likely it is that a lift in consciousness will occur. My humble attempt to assist may be nothing more than one person’s cry for help.

But on the off-chance that the human condition can be repaired by the sincerity and intention of a few who refuse to give up hope, I urge you to take a moment and try doing these.
